Emergency Management Intern Values EKU Experience

The summer after my freshman year of college I started working as an intern with the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management in Frankfort, KY. I worked as a full time employee with a 90 minute drive to work totalling 100 miles each way.

Combating Terrorism with a Homeland Security Degree

It was the attacks on September 11th that really brought Homeland Security into the forefront of everybody’s lives. Homeland Security has always been a principal motivator before as was terrorism / counterterrorism, but 9/11 is what made the everyday population focus in on the topic, and I believe it is what motivates many students to come to EKU to study Homeland Security.
